Ben is a trumpet player and teacher
in the St. Louis area. Originally from Wisconsin, he studied with Dr. Robert Kase at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point and graduated in 2002 with degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance. After graduation, he joined the
United States Air Force Band of Mid-America. Studying with Dr. John Korak, he earned his Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance from Southern Illinois University
Edwardsville in 2005. Ben has performed with groups throughout the world, including the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra,
The Rome Festival Orchestra, Mr. Sleeves, The Tommy Money Orchestra, Hot Brass, and the Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble.
An expressive performer and
clear communicator, he currently teaches the trumpet studio at McKendree University, regularly presents group clinics on a variety of topics, and is a member of the International Trumpet Guild's
book and recording review committees. Ben is proud to be a Getzen Artist.
In addition to trumpet, Ben also enjoys playing ultimate
frisbee, hunting and fishing, sampling fine root beers, playing cards, and gardening.
